CASETA, the Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art, works to promote the preservation, study, and appreciation of early Texas visual art and its history. The Symposium and Texas Art Fair is their signature annual event, held in rotation between Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Houston. For three days leading collectors, scholars, art dealers, museum professionals, educators and early Texas art enthusiasts convene with the shared vision to advance the legacy of early Texas art.
This year's event highlights female artists, coinciding with the release of the catalog: Making the Unknown Known: Women in Early Texas Art, 1860 – 1960 (published by Texas A&M, 2024). Toni LaSelle has a dedicated chapter in the publication, written and researched by Sarah Beth Wilson.
