Inman Gallery is excited and honored to formally welcome Erika Blumenfeld to the gallery program. Blumenfeld presented her first solo exhibition with the gallery, titled Tracing Luminaries, in March 2023.
Erika Blumenfeld (b. 1971, Newark, NJ) is a transdisciplinary artist, researcher, and writer whose work explores the material and poetic origins of our relationship with the natural world. Examining entanglements between natural phenomena, ecology, geology, astronomy, and cosmochemistry, her work intends to study the notion of an embodied relationship with the cosmos—that we are, in our very chemistry, of and from the stars; a confirmation of our connectedness across the cosmos.
Blumenfeld is the current artist in residence at NASA Space Center. Work from her most recent series, Tracing Luminaries, was acquired by several institutions in 2023, including Baltimore Museum of Art and Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Erika Blumenfeld is based in Houston, TX.
